There are more than 51,000 people displaced from the
villages of Delami, Um Birumbaita and Um Haytan, surrounding the Tongoli
mountains in Kuwalib locality, South Kordofan, living in increasingly
harsh humanitarian conditions with no access to aid.
A witness speaking from the mountains told Radio Tamazuj
families are suffering from poor health conditions, as well as food and
water shortages.
He said around 51,000 are living in the mountains, sheltering in caves for fear of shelling from the Sudan Armed Forces.
The witness appealed on behalf of displaced people in the
area, to international humanitarian organisations to act quickly to
deliver aid, and save the lives of thousands of people currently at
risk.
